The Lost Explorer Mezcal – made within the rhythm of Nature

The Lost Explorer Mezcal is a small batch, award-winning artisanal mezcal cultivated and handcrafted in the warm, arid valleys of Oaxaca, Mexico. Their mezcal is made from three types of agaves: Espadín, Tobalá and Salmiana. Flavor profiles range from herbaceous and citrusy to earthy—all with an elegant, subtle smokiness.

The Lost Explorer’s three expressions are the labour of love of the internationally recognised Maestro Mezcalero, Don Fortino Ramos. Ramos has dedicated over 40 years to mastering the art of distilling mezcal to bring to the world The Lost Explorer’s premium portfolio of Espadín, Tobalá and Salmiana. Each agave plant is hand selected and harvested to provide the highest quality mezcal to showcase the full flavour and character of each varietal. Just as with wine, mezcal is an expression of the terroir it’s grown in. The Lost Explorer’s agaves take on average 8 to 12 years to fully mature, before they are ready for harvesting.

Their Espadín, made of 100% Espadín Agave Angustifolia is the most common agave varietal across the industry. Espadín’s sweet and herbaceous profile lends its flavour to experiment with tantilizing cocktails. All three expressions can be enjoyed neat and at room temperature, sipped slowly to appreciate the nuanced flavors from each different agave species.
