Taylors has won the trophy for Best Red Wine of the Show at the Shanghai International Wine Challenge (SIWC) for its 2005 Jaraman Shiraz.

The Clare Valley winemaker also collected gold medals in China for two of its Cabernet Sauvignons — the flagship 2004 St Andrews Cabernet Sauvignon and the 2005 Jaraman Cabernet Sauvignon.

The awards follow a strong performance for Taylors at last year’s show, when it won the trophy for Best White Wine of the Show for its 2005 Jaraman Chardonnay.

“We’re absolutely delighted with these wins,” said Taylors managing director, Mitchell Taylor. “It will really put Australian red wine on the map in China – we just hope our Olympians can do as well or even better in Beijing.”

The 2005 Jaraman Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz are both set to be released later this month for $29.95 RRP.
