Te Hana, a new sparkling wine created from pristine pinot noir and chardonnay vineyards of New Zealand is set to capture female hearts in Australia this festive season.

The name, Te Hana is from the Maori language meaning ‘to shine’, and this is a wine designed to do just that with irresistible quality and style.

To understand what women love best in sparkling, an intensive research program was conducted prior to actually making the wine. Armed with the answers; high quality; crisp aromatic style; sophisticated, elegant, contemporary design and reasonable price, Te Hana was born.

Appropriately, this sparkling was made by a female winemaker, Australian Kate Wall, who was seconded from the celebrated Croser team in the Adelaide Hills to create two Te Hana sparklings; a Reserve Cuvée (80% Chardonnay and 20% Pinot Noir) and a Rosé Cuvée (100% Pinot Noir).

The two wines embody what has made New Zealand so popular with consumers; the sense of a pure environment and Kiwi vitality, along with a great taste combining aromatic fruit and clean, crisp flavours.

The Reserve Cuvée is an aromatic aperitif style, showing flavours of crisp apples, grapefruit and strawberries with an underlying brioche character. The 100% Pinot Noir in the Rosé Cuvée is expressed in subtle strawberry and cherry aromas with toasty yeast and brioche and a creamy rich finish.

Te Hana’s bottle design is modern and distinctive. The labels, etched on the bottles feature bellbirds and the Puriri tree which is native to New Zealand.

The wines are available in Australia from September 2010.

Te Hana Reserve Cuvée RRP $23.99
