The Australian Liquor Industry Awards (ALIA) is teaming up with The Barber Shop in Sydney to host a pre-ALIA party – with two special guests in attendance.

Award-winning New York bartenders Dushan Zaric and Steven Schneider will be mixing drinks and signing books as The Barber Shop transforms itself into legendary Manhattan bar Employees Only for a single night.

Taking place on Tuesday 28 October, the night before the ALIAs, the party is free to attend with guests each receiving a complimentary cocktail on arrival, courtesy of American drinks company 86 Spirits Co. For the rest of the evening, cocktails will be charged at New York prices.

Mikey Enright, owner of The Barber Shop, said he was thrilled to be joining forces with ALIA to create such a unique event.

“Simon Ford launched 86 Spirits Co in Australia back in January this year,” he explained. “Whist he was here we discussed the possibility of having an event like this, so we are absolutely delighted that it’s finally real and to have Dushan and Steven of Employees Only fame taking over our bar for the night.”
