Sydney’s The Eastern hotel has expanded on the successful GoodTime Burgers concept it introduced late last year with yesterday's opening of GoodTime Diner.

GoodTime Diner occupies the former Anatoli Restaurant site on the first level of the Bondi Junction pub. The new diner has an Americana theme and a design inspired by old New Orleans bars.

The space has been fitted out with sleek black tables, solid brass, and traditional art deco detailing. The food menu, designed by head chef Matt Fitzgerald, also carries the New Orleans influence and features a number of American BBQ dishes.

“We wanted to pay homage to the mystique of New Orleans and the city’s rich history,” said The Eastern owner, Andrew Lazarus.

“Not just through the venue’s styling and cocktail menu, but by offering the people of the Eastern suburbs excellent quality, Southern-inspired food and the warm hospitality for which the American South is known.”

The restaurant also offers a solid cocktail list that includes drinks such as the Charlie Chaplin, the Texas Old Fashion, and the Apple Sidecar.
