Group of friends raise glasses of white wine. Reinvigorating Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc

The ‘Fabulous Festive Fiesta’ will be hosted by Treasury 1860, a wine bar and restaurant in Adelaide’s Treasury building, from 2pm to 6pm on Sunday, December 5.

Themed as “a fabulous Christmas party”, the event has been organised by Kate Giles, a local wine identity, and the Fabulous Ladies’ Wine Society (FLWS).

Jane Thomson, the Founder and CEO of the FLWS, said: “There have been so few opportunities to celebrate women wine this year. Being able to bring so many of South Australia’s most amazing female talent together in the one place and put on a party is very exciting indeed.”

The event will include over 100 different wines from producers from around Australia, including some of the foremost wine producing regions in the world: Eden Valley, the Barossa, Clare Valley and Adelaide Hills.

Participating wineries include Levrier, ArtWine and Kimbolton Wines. Wines will be available for both tasting or purchase by the bottle and case.

Tickets are $40 per person, and entry includes wine tastings, meet and greets with producers, grazing platters from Treasury 1860’s chef and more.

As Thomson says: “This will be the one Christmas bash you don’t want to miss.”

The FLWS is the first and largest wine collective for women. Founded in 2012, the FLWS promotes women in wine through events, tours and online information. In 2015, it founded the Australian Women in Wine Awards, the world’s only awards program devoted to women in wine.

In a statement to press, the FLWS wanted to emphasise that everyone is welcome at the event: “Men, women, non-binary and gender queer. If you’re a wine lover and then we want to see you here.”
