The Collaroy Hotel opened its doors to the public yesterday after undergoing a complete transformation.

The Collaroy is a fresh new entity, owned and run by new management, new staff and with a new look that compliments the new direction.

General manager, Alistair Flower, born and raised on the Northern Beaches, says “Our real core is community.”

“We are working closely with the local businesses and groups, creating lifestyle offerings that go beyond a drink and a feed.”

At street level, glimpses of what’s in store at the new Collaroy can be caught through the large-scale windows in the historic façade. The hotel features rotating plantation fans, lush tropical greenery and bespoke furniture all designed with a relaxed, yet playful coastal twist.

“We’ve knocked through four huge terraces that make up the Collaroy, for the first time taking in the far Northern space and opening us up to amazing coastal views,” Flower added.

“From the street, we have been careful to maintain the iconic heritage features, while our new logo and name give a nod to the Collaroy steamship that ran aground on the reef right out the front of the hotel back in 1881.”
