The World’s 50 Best Bars have been revealed overnight, with London’s Connaught Bar moving up from second spot last year to number one, replacing Dante as the best bar in the world.

This year’s top 50 also saw three Australian bars listed with Maybe Sammy (11), Cantina OK! (28) and Bulletin Place (39) all being recognised as among the best bars on the planet.

The World’s 50 Best Bars is an annual list that celebrates the best of the international drinks industry. It provides an annual ranking of bars as voted by more than 500 drinks experts from across the world, including renowned bartenders and consultants, drinks writers and cocktail specialists.

The list, which has been published annually since 2009, represents the ultimate international guide to the world’s top bars and drinking destinations and has become the most anticipated ranking for drinks professionals and cocktail aficionados across the world.

“Our commitment and motivation to maintain the quality of service we believe our guests deserve has always been at the heart of Maybe Sammy. We always want our guests to feel special and the team works hard to do that at a level we’re proud of.”

In addition, last month The World’s 50 Best Bars named Maybe Sammy the winner of their annual Michter’s Art of Hospitality Award. The award recognises one bar in the world which industry experts declare they received the single best hospitality experience at, during the voting period.
