Brisbane’s northern suburb of Eatons Hill last week witnessed the opening of an entertainment behemoth billed as the largest hotel and tavern in Queensland and possibly the whole of Australia.

As a one-stop venue for food, alcohol, entertainment, shopping and accommodation, the Eatons Hill Hotel and Function Centre caters for the general public’s hospitality needs as well as functions and events.

Last Wednesday (April 6) the venue opened to a flurry of media and industry expectation.

Owner operators the Comiskeys (Robert and Paul) enjoyed a hectic night of teething problems but claimed the evening was a huge success.

Last Friday (April 8) saw 2500 people turn up to experience the new premises – drawn without advertising or invitation.

In just their second week, the restaurant is already booked nearly two weeks in advance.

“Such a large volume of people, product and services have really forced us to get our (new) systems in order. We almost wish it was a little calmer… we couldn’t be happier with business so far,” said Comiskey Group director, Robert Comiskey.
