The third annual Time Out Bar Awards will be held tonight (Oct 25).
Held at hot new venue Porteno in Surry Hills and hosted by popular television host Andrew O'Keefe, the Awards will name Sydney’s best venues in twelve categories including Best Pub, Best Design and the coveted Best Bar award.
Finalists for the year include Grasshopper and Absinthe Salon, up for Best Small Bar; Boteco and Rockpool Bar and Grill up for Best Bar Food; and Porteno, Manly Wine by Gazebo and the Flinders Hotel nominated for Best Design.
On a winning streak, the Flinders Hotel recently won the award for ‘Best Renovation’ at the 2010 Australian Liquor Industry Awards (ALIA) held last Wednesday (Oct 20).
The evening will also see Sydney’s Best Bartender crowned, with Andy Penney (Flinders Hotel), Anton Forte (Shady Pines Saloon), Barry Chalmers (Eau-de-Vie), Benito Drovandi (Tokonoma) and Blake Head (Rockpool Bar & Grill) the five finalists.
