Two Eden Valley white wines won awards on Monday at the International Wine Challenge in London.

Yalumba’s The Virgilius Viognier 2007 was awarded the International Viognier Trophy and Gold Medal, while Pewsey Vale’s The Contours Riesling 2002 won the Australian White Wine Trophy, the South Australian White Wine Trophy and the Eden Valley Wine Trophy.

“Winning trophies at an international show of this scale, which brings together the very best judges, is testament to our work with the Viognier variety and the Pewsey Vale Vineyard,” winemaker Louisa Rose said.

Now in its 25th year, the International Wine Challenge includes over 9000 wines from 40 different countries and is judged by more than 400 people.
