The Australian Liquor Stores Association (ALSA) has confirmed Steve Lewis, CEO of UK liquor retailer Majestic Wines, is among the keynote speakers appearing at its upcoming annual conference in Cairns.

Majestic Wines boasts over 200 stores in the UK, annual sales in excess of GBP130 million and market capitalisation of GBP306 million.

Its CEO Steve Lewis will be joined at the conference by keynote speakers including Peter Baines OAM, one of Australia’s top leadership experts, Dr Ross Walker, a consulting cardiologist at the National Institute of Integrated Medicine, economist Peter Switzer and Nielsen’s Michael Walton.

Kicking off on Sunday 24 August at the five-star Pullman Cairns International, liquor retailers, wholesalers, suppliers and manufacturers from across Australia will come together for three days of business sessions, panel discussions and networking events that have been specifically tailored for the Australian retail liquor industry.

Four-for-three deal

ALSA is also offering a group incentive four-for-three deal, where for every three conference delegates registered, the fourth attends for free.

“ALSA encourages retail liquor industry stakeholders to register as a group, and is offering a fantastic incentive for interested companies who might wish to hold their own conference or meeting while attending the ALSA national conference,” said ALSA chief executive officer, Terry Mott.

“Incentivise and reward your staff for their hard work or get a couple of stores from the same banner group together to take advantage of the incentive. ALSA has done all the hard work for you – we’ve booked the venue, developed the program, organised all the social and networking events – we can even assist you with any specific requirements you might have such as private meeting rooms, pre and post activities, and local contacts.”

The 2014 ALSA conference runs from Sunday 24 to Friday 29 August.
