Three years after Two Birds Brewing hit the craft beer scene as Australia’s first female-owned and operated brewing company, the brewers have officially opened the doors to their brand-new brewery and tasting room, The Nest, in the Melbourne suburb of Spotswood.

The Nest provides visitors the opportunity to view the brewing process, taste the rotating range of Two Birds beers – brewed on site – and take home brewery-fresh beer in growlers and squealers.

Jayne Lewis and Danielle Allen (aka The Two Birds)  teamed up with American chef Casey Wall (formerly of Cutler & Co, NYC's Spotted Pig and Le Cirque) and, most recently, Rockwell and Sons, of Collingwood. Wall has created a range of dishes to be served at The Nest that partner with each beer.

“For the longest time, Casey has been saying that when we opened our own brewery, he wanted do the food,” says brewer, Jayne Lewis. “About six months ago, I called him and said: ‘It’s time!’, and here we are!”

“The menu is amazing and is the perfect complement to the beers that we are making here,” says Lewis.

Casey Wall, agrees. “The menu [focuses on] food that makes drinking beer even more awesome. Outside of the aged cheeses, we’re aiming to make everything from scratch.”

The Two Birds Brewing brewery and tasting room, The Nest, 136 Hall St, Spotswood, VIC, is open to the public every Thursday to Sunday, from 4pm.
