Vanguard Luxury Brands will begin selling Tequila Ocho (pictured) and Del Maguey Single Village Mezcal as of Monday September 15.

Vanguard founder James France this week announced his company had taken over the brands from Think Spirits, which began distributing powerhouse tequila brand, Jose Cuervo, last year.

"The team at Think has been excellent to work with and we couldn’t have hoped for a smoother transition," France told TheShout.

Ocho is billed as "one of the few tequilas still made slowly in the old fashioned way".

Del Maguey is unique for its focus on village producers, who are given the freedom to produce mezcal using ancient practices.
