Carlton and United Breweries has announced that after seven years it is discontinuing the Raise A Glass partnership between Victoria Bitter, the RSL and Legacy.

Although the partnership, which has stood since 2009, will not continue in the same format a spokesperson for CUB has told TheShout that the brewer will continue making donations to the RSL and Legacy.

“We value the partnership we’ve had with the RSL and Legacy since 2009 but will no longer continue the Raise A Glass appeal in its current form,” the spokesperson said.

VB launched the Raise A Glass campaign in 2009 as a national fundraising appeal to support serving and ex-service men and women, fallen veterans and their families.

Raise A Glass has raised more than $7 million for the RSL and Legacy since it was introduced.

The spokesperson added: “We’re proud to have raised awareness for veteran welfare over seven years and to have donated more than $7m to the RSL and Legacy.

“While we have made a decision not to continue the partnership in its current form, we have committed to direct donations for the next two years, with no ‘above the line’ campaign.”
