The weeks are counting down to the inaugural AGE at the new Glebe Island venue and another round of trips to Las Vegas for six visitors to the Expo.
Set to take place August 12, 13 and 14 at the all-new Sydney Exhibition Centre @ Glebe Island with over 15,000 square metres of the latest gaming offerings, organisers the Gaming Technologies Association (GTA) suggest the 2014 AGE will herald a new era.
Last year nearly 6,000 gaming industry executives trod the boards across the three days, and there is every expectation this year will see the same or more visitors from all around Australia, New Zealand, the USA, Europe and Asia-Pacific.
Continuing a popular tradition, the GTA is again giving away three packages for two people to fly to the home of gaming, Las Vegas, Nevada.
Winners are drawn each day of the Expo, and receive flights plus five nights’ accommodation in the Nevada oasis.
Last year Annie Johnson, who made the trip from Booval, Queensland to the AGE with her parents and publicans of the Prince Alfred Hotel Clive and Maryanne, answered a welcome page to the information desk to learn she was the lucky recipient of one of the Vegas prizes.
Annie decided to pass on the tickets to her parents, who made the most of the vacation – enjoying a helicopter ride over the Grand Canyon as well as checking out casinos such as Caesars Palace, New York New York, Palazzo, The Venetian, Paris and Wynn.
Sporting a lot more than the 750 new poker machines that will be on show across the 160 exhibitors – including 26 first timers – the GTA reports an exit survey last year found 99 per cent of visitors to the AGE saw it as an opportunity to discover new products and technology, and were satisfied they had done just that.
