The winner of the Victorian Herradura Cocktail Bartender of the Year competition was announced on Monday night (Feb 23) at the final, held at Transit Lounge in Melbourne’s CBD.

Sebastian Reaburn from 1806 took out first prize with his unique Herradura Blazer, made from white chocolate and passionfruit. Second place went to Chris Hysted from Black Pearl, with Ryan Scoble from Platform 3 coming in third.

The competition received 48 entries from 22 bars across Melbourne. The top seven bartenders were chosen to compete in the final, with first prize a bottle of the premium Seleccion Suprema and $500.

Brown-Forman brand ambassador Linus Schaxmann said it was an impressive competition. “All seven bartenders did a fantastic job for presenting their cocktails and highlighting the mixability and versatility of Herradura tequila,” he said.

Herradura tequila is a premium tequila from Mexico. Made from 100 per cent blue agave and fermented in traditional clay ovens, it has won 13 double gold medals at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition since 2000.
