UK-based Broker’s Gin is planning an extensive roadshow for on-premise and off-premise trade customers throughout October.

According to Broker’s Gin co-owner Andy Dawson, the roadshow will feature visits to Sydney, Melbourne and Perth as well as potentially Brisbane.

“I visited Australia twice in 2011 and twice in 2010. I must have been ten times by now, which is a reflection of how much I like Australia,” Dawson told TheShout.

“This year’s visit will build on my previous visits and will include both on-premise and off-premise activity. For example, I hope to run another Broker’s Gin cocktail competition in Perth to follow on from the inaugural competition we held at the Cheeky Sparrow last year,” he said.

Dawson has been particularly pleased with the work of the local distributor, Pure Beverages, which manages Broker’s in Australia and New Zealand.

“Pure Beverages have done a great job getting us into many independent bars and restaurants in the major cities and also into many independent retailers. We have some prestigious pouring accounts such as Icebergs at Bondi Beach and the other bars in that group. The next challenge is to get listed in one, or some, of the multiple retailers.

“We sell Broker’s Gin in about 40 countries around the world. I consider a country to be well established as a market once we start shipping product by the container load as opposed to shipping just a certain number of pallets. Australia is on the verge of joining our ‘container club’,” he said.
