Vok Beverages has acquired premium South Australian winery, Step Rd, along with several associated wine brands.

Vok, which already distributes wine brands including Andrew Garrett, Queen Adelaide and Minchinbury, recently announced the acquisition of the Step Rd Winery situated in the Langhorne Creek region.

The deal also includes the multi award-winning wines of the Step Road, Beresford, Katherine Hills, Trig Point and Crystal Brook brands.

Step Road is a cool climate brand featuring Adelaide Hills Sparkling Chardonnay Pinot Noir, Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Gris and Langhorne Creek Shiraz and a Cabernet Sauvignon.

The Beresford brand features wines from McLaren Vale – a region renowned for Shiraz – with the current Beresford 2008 Shiraz having picked up two Gold Medals.

Vok Beverages marketing manager Chris Illman recently said the company was in a stronger than ever position with the addition of new bourbon and rum trademarks to its portfolio.

He said it would be 'business as usual' for Step Rd, with its trading relationships to be maintained and extended into the future.

"This acquisition is another step towards Vok delivering our company goal of becoming one of Australia's largest privately owned beverage businesses through building outstanding brands, innovation, 'premiumisation' and maintaining close relationships with our customers," he said.
