The 15th Annual Great Australasian Beer SpecTAPular (GABS) Craft Beer People’s Choice Poll is back, giving beer lovers a chance to vote for their preferred Aussie brew.
In the 2022 edition, nearly 250,000 votes were cast by around 50,000 consumers, with 58 individual breweries making it onto the Hottest 100 list.
This year, Canberra’s Bentspoke Brewing Co. will be hoping to retain its title after its Crankshaft IPA took the top spot for the second year in a row.
Beer drinkers will be able to select from more than 1000 beers nominated by hundreds of different Australian breweries – and if they can’t find a beer they loved, they’ll be able to nominate it themselves. Voting is open from 7 December 2022 to 20 January 2023.
Each voter will also go into a random draw to win a share of $5000 in prizes.
For the 2023 edition, GABS has partnered with First Choice Liquor Markets as a ‘platinum sponsor’.
Mia Lloyd, Coles Liquor General Manager of Customer Loyalty, Trade, Planning and Insights, expressed her anticipation for the countdown and event.

A live countdown of the GABS Hottest 100 will take place on 28 January 2023, with Matt Kirkegaard hosting a live podcast with First Choice Liquor. In addition to the main list, GABS will release the Hottest 100 Indie Beers (Independent owned breweries), Hottest 100 New Beers (brewed in 2022), and Hottest Next Beers (101-200) lists.
