The top Western Australian retailers, suppliers and sales representatives were recognised at the recent Liquor Stores Association WA (LSAWA) industry awards, where almost 500 guests gathered for the big event.

LSAWA chairman Phil Hawkins was presented with a Life Member’s Certificate, while Alf Zinnecker of Zinns Liquor at Dunsborough received an Industry Recognition Award.

The Metropolitan Liquor Store of the Year was won by De Vine Cellars of Inglewood, while Country Liquor Store of the Year went to Zinns Liquor of Dunsborough.

De Vine Cellars was the overall WA Liquor Store of 2008.

On the supply side, the Rookie Sales Representative of the Year went to Cleve Brand of Foster’s Group, with Dell Bain of Premium Beverages picking up Beer Representative of the Year.

The Wine Representative of the Year went to Kellie Higgins of Constellation Wines and Trevor Smyth of Diageo received the Spirit/RTD Representative of the Year.

Constellation Wines received the Supplier of the Year Award and a charity auction was also included on the night, raising
almost $30,000 for Diabetes WA.
