In a Wine Communicators Association (WCA) first, Nielsen’s Michael Walton will share global retail data with attendees at briefings to be held in both Melbourne and Sydney next month.

The executive director of Liquor Services will discuss data that is usually only available to the larger Nielsen subscribers, taking attendees through a range of insights in key areas.

These will include key categories, market and consumer shifts, innovation and hot price segments, as well as varietal and regional preferences for wines.

And while the domestic market will be the primary focus, Walton will also address trends from major export markets — New Zealand, the US and the UK.

The events will be held in Melbourne on March 18 and in Sydney on March 19, both starting at 6:00pm and costing $45 for WCA members and $55 for guests.
