The Winemakers’ Federation of Australia has recently been running a series of Wine Equalisation Tax Rebate seminars in capital cities and major wine regions. Following the high demand of these seminars, the WFA has now organised a free webinar for industry to go over changes to the legislation.

WFA and Wine Communicators of Australia will deliver the webinar on Wednesday, December 13, 2017 at 12.30pm (ACDT). Registrations are now open. Guest speakers from the Australian Tax Office (ATO) will join the WFA team to present the Wine Equalisation Tax – New Measures in the webinar.

“Winemakers who currently access the rebate, or sell grapes to a wine producer who receives the rebate, need to understand the implications of the changes,” WFA Chief Executive Tony Battaglene.

“We have the experts in the field from the ATO at the webinar to help winemakers and grape growers understand the changes within the new legislation. The ATO has demonstrated its commitment to helping ensure our industry is best placed to transition into operating under the new legislation.”

The WET changes were agreed by the Australian Parliament on  August 17, 2017, and are now law, known as the Treasury Laws Amendment (2017 Measure No.4) Act 2017.

Registration is mandatory for the webinar and you can register on the Wine Communicators website.
