Phew! All this COVID-19 news is pretty confronting, but even with potentially dark times ahead the hospitality industry has managed to show some amazing spirit and smiles, showing just what a wonderful industry this really is.

Here TheShout takes time out from all the crap and brings you somethings that will hopefully bring a smile to your face.

With more and more people working from home, it has spawned a social media presence, with perhaps the best one being @dogsworkingfromhome. You need to follow this page.

It’s not just on Insta though, Sparkke at the Whitmore said it would like thank all South Australian health workers on the frontline with free meals from 12 noon and 9pm today

Sparkke Co-Founder Kari Allen said our health workers are on the frontline and up for challenging times ahead. When Head Chef Emma McCaskill talked about the challenges facing her parents who are both health care workers and suggested we can offer genuine gesture of support it felt like a very Sparkke thing to do.

“We are all going to need to show our support for these workers who are genuinely on the front line.”

Also in South Australia, Unico Zelo is putting together a virtual tasting every evening, to chat wine and enjoy some social engagement in a time of exclusion and isolation.

Also many venues across the country are offering hospitality workers free drinks and meals, which is awesome in a time of such uncertainty. Check local social media pages for more info.
