The Wild Turkey bourbon ‘Jimmy and Eddie Russell Tour’ took place this week (Aug 16 – 20) with master distiller Jimmy Russell and his son and associate distiller Eddie in town to educate and entertain the trade about the iconic bourbon.

Three key trade events were held in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane, with select retailers, publicans and bartenders in attendance.

Working at the Wild Turkey distillery since 1954, Jimmy Russell has had an illustrious career, with his son Eddie Russell following in his footsteps to become associate distiller.

“I grew up around bourbon,” said Eddie Russell. “But I never knew for sure if I would go into the business. Then, one year my dad took me on as an apprentice. That was nearly 30 years ago, so I think it must be the longest apprenticeship in history.”

Their tour coincided with Wild Turkey Darts Pro Tour, which began on August 15 in Tasmania, travelling across seven locations nationally and culminating at the grand final at Southport RSL, Gold Coast on August 21.

The Wild Turkey range includes Wild Turkey 86.8, Wild Turkey Rye and Wild Turkey American Honey.
