Woodford Reserve bourbon has upped the ante in bartending competitions by offering bartenders the chance to win a share in the Woodford Reserve race horse.

The competition, which is open to bartenders across Australia, is aimed to promote Woodford Reserve’s long association with horse racing.

To enter, bartenders must submit a cocktail that contains 30ml Woodford Reserve, no more than six ingredients and is easily replicable in a bar environment.

Six finalists will then be chosen from each state, who will present their cocktail to Woodford Reserve representatives throughout May.

The winner will be announced on May 28 and, along with a 5 percent share in Woodford Reserve’s race horse, the winner will also take home $500 and a bottle of 2010 Woodford Reserve Master’s Collection: Seasoned Oak.

Entries close April 27.
