Jose Cuervo tequila has announced an exciting new on-premise competition that will see four lucky bar managers and one bartender win a trip to Mexico.

Bars&clubs, Australian Hotelier and National Liquor News magazines, along with TheShout have one more trip exclusively to give away, courtesy of Jose Cuervo.

The prize includes return economy airfares and all transfers in Mexico, three nights in 5-star accommodation at a beach resort in Mexico, day activities, tequila education session, Mexican nightlife experiences, two nights 5-star accommodation in Guadalajara, Jose Cuervo Agave field tour, private distillery tour, product education with a Master of Tequila, and an exclusive experience and fiesta at Casa Cuervo.

What do I need to do?

To enter, simply activate a Jose Cuervo inspired tequila concept somewhere within your venue (be it a bar, pub or bottleshop). How creative you are is entirely up to you, the only condition is that it must incorporate Jose Cuervo in some way.

You could try –

° A floor or counter display (retail), cocktail of the month (bar) or a food and tequila offering (pub/hotels)

° Think sombreros, cactuses, tacos, piñatas, shots with a twist (cinnamon, anyone?)… get creative!

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

1. Information on how to enter and prizes form part of these Conditions of Entry.

2. Entry is only open to residents of Australia aged 18 years and older who are employed at a licensed establishment where alcoholic drinks are served over the counter or bottleshop (“Eligible Staff”) and are readers of the “Participating publications” outlined in clause 3

3. The participating publications are part of the Intermedia Group and consist of National Liquor News, bars&clubs, Australian Hotelier and TheShout (“Participating publications”).

4. The promotion begins at 0700hrs on 1st November 2010 and closes at 1700hrs on 31st January 2011 (“Promotion Period”).

5. Eligibility:

To be eligible to participate in this promotion, eligible staff must execute the following in their outlet during the Promotional Period:

a. Activate a Jose Cuervo inspired Tequila concept in their venue through implementation of one or more of the sales drivers outlined in clause 6.

i. Concept can include incorporate Mexican themes, but must incorporate Jose Cuervo products

b. Send imagery and evidence of the sales drivers and concept to rharris@intermedia.com.au by 1700hrs on 31st January 2011

7. HOW TO WIN:

Eligible staff must execute one, or more of the sales drivers as set out in clause 6. The entry that is judged as the best implementation and visibility of Jose Cuervo will win the major prize. Photos will be used as the basis for judging.

a. Judging will be made by the Editors of the participating publications and the Jose Cuervo Brand Manager at Intermedia Group, Unit 39, 100 Harris St, Pyrmont, Sydney.

8. No responsibility accepted for late or misdirected entries. Incomplete or indecipherable images or sales data will be deemed invalid. Entries are deemed to be received at the time of receipt and NOT at the time of transmission by the entrant.

9. Major Prize:

There is one (1) Major Prize to be won. The eligible participant judged to have implemented the best Jose Cuervo inspired concept in their venue, will win a Trip to Mexico valued at AUD$6,000.00. Winner will be selected 1st February 2011. Prize includes return economy flights for one (1) person departing from the winner’s nearest capital city to Sydney (where winners will join a Cuervo group in Sydney). In the event the winner requires overnight accommodation in Sydney prior to their departure, or on their return, as a result of the winner’s capital city and flight schedules, accommodation will include one (1) night’s twin share accommodation in a four (4) star hotel including airport-to hotel transfers. From Sydney, the group will then travel together to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico; accommodation includes three (3) nights twin share accommodation in a five (5) star hotel at The Westin Resort in Puerta Vallarta, Mexico; includes airport-to-hotel transfers; plus two (2) nights twin share accommodation at a four (4) star hotel at Camino Real in Guadalajara including transfers; day and evening activities; Tequila tasting and education seminars; Jose Cuervo Agave field tour; private tour of the Cuervo Family Distillery; Tequila tasting with the Master of Tequila and a Fiesta at Casa Cuervo. Major Prize must be taken on dates specified by the Promoter, as winners will be travelling to Mexico in a group, which includes the winner of the Cuervo Bar Staff Retailer Incentive Promotion and Cuervo representatives. Winners must be available to travel between 9th May 2011 – 13th June 2011. Actual dates of travel yet to be confirmed at the time of printing. Winners must also hold a valid passport with a minimum of 6 months validity remaining from the date of travel. Major prize winner will be notified by phone, email and will have their names published in The Australian on 8th February 2011. Total prize pool valued at AUD$24,000.00.

10. The Promoter reserves the right to verify the validity of entries received and reserves the right to disqualify any entrant for tampering with the entry process or for submitting an entry which is not in accordance with these Conditions of Entry.

11. Prizes are not transferable or exchangeable and cannot be taken as cash. Participants may, in consultation with Diageo, nominate another staff member of their licensed venue to take their place if they can not redeem the prize themselves.

12. The Promoter shall not be liable for any liability (including tax liability), loss or damage whatsoever which is suffered (including but not limited to indirect or consequential loss) or for personal injury which is suffered or sustained, as a result of taking any of the prizes, except for any liability which cannot be excluded by law.

13. The Promoter advocates the responsible service and consumption of alcohol and abides by a strict code of marketing practice for alcoholic beverages. It is a condition of this promotion that Participating Outlets comply with applicable regulations and guidelines for the responsible service and promotion of alcohol. Participating Outlets are encouraged to visit www.alcoholguidelines.gov.au for information on safe drinking, standard drinks and related issues. 14. The Promoter collects entrants’ personal information in order to conduct the promotion. If the information requested is not provided, the entrant may not participate in the promotion. By entering the promotion, unless otherwise advised, each entrant also agrees that the Promoter may use this information, or disclose it to other organisations that may use it, in any media for future promotional, marketing and publicity purposes without any further reference, payment or other compensation to the entrant. Entrants’ personal information may be disclosed to State and Territory lottery departments and winners’ names published as required under the relevant lottery legislation. A request to access, update or correct any information should be directed to the Promoter at their address set out below.
