The hospitality industry could soon see an influx of accredited wine buffs following the launch of a fully fledged wine academy in Sydney.

Based at the Northern Sydney Institute’s Ryde campus, the Sydney Wine Academy (SWA) offers a syllabus composed of local and international wine courses for amateurs and wine connoisseurs, including courses from the London-based Wine and Spirit Education Trust (WSET).

“Being an approved program provider of WSET courses complements our nationally endorsed Australian wine courses and enables the Sydney Wine Academy to teach people about every aspect of wine, from novices to experts,” said SWA course director, Clive Hartley.

“Delivered by a team of lecturers with Australian and international experience, the courses range from a short six hours to a one-year Sommelier Certificate, offering something for everyone interested in wine.”

The SWA is now offering three WSET courses:  Level 1 Foundation Certificate in Wines, Level 2 Intermediate Certificate in Wine and Spirit, and the Level 3 Advanced Certificate in Wine and Spirits.
