A new partnership between Wine Australia and the Export Finance and Insurance Corporation (Efic) will help Australian wine producers to better understand how they can access finance needed to maximise export opportunities.

Under the new partnership, Wine Australia will work with Efic to help Australian wine exporters learn how the corporation's range of loans and guarantees can help them to take advantage of new export opportunities.

Wine Australia's CEO Andreas Clark said: "At a time when Australian wine exports are growing, it is important that wine exporters are aware of all of their financing options."

Efic operates on a commercial basis and partners with banks to provide financial support to Australian small and medium enterprise exporters and those in an export supply chain.

Andrew Watson, Efic's executive director of export finance, added: "As a specialist financier, Efic understands the challenges faced by the wine industry in relation to exporting.

"We are looking forward to working closely with Wine Australia, as we strive to help more Australian wine producers expand into new markets, grow internationally and achieve export success."

More information about how Efic can help Australian wine exporters is available at www.efic.gov.au/wine.
