Premium wine importer, Wines of Chile and Argentina (WoCA), has announced the expansion of its portfolio to include a new Spanish wine, Bosque de MatAsnos.

Founded in 2003, WoCA began as an importer of wines from Chile, and expanded its portfolio to include Argentinian wines in 2010.

The new Spanish wine, Bosque de MatAsnos, is produced using grapes sourced from a vineyard in the Matasnos Forest in Burgos province, northern Spain. The vineyard is 950 metres above sea level, ensuring slow ripening conditions for the grapes.

The wine is a blend of 95 per cent Tempranillo and 5 per cent Merlot.

"The wine reveals a very distinct character of ripe fruit with touches of fruits of the forest," WoCA says.

"The tannins of the wood deliver a gentle, spicy aftertaste of hazelnut… glyceric and very well structured, remaining in the mouth a very long time."
