The Wine Industry Mentor Program has announced its 2022 participants, which will see 55 early career professionals undertake a six-month mentorship with industry leaders.

The Wine Industry Mentor Program draws upon the talent and expertise of experienced members of the Australian wine industry, from the fields of winemaking and viticulture, retail, hospitality, research, and marketing and communications.

The program is operated by industry partners, including the Australian Society of Viticulture and Oenology, the University of Adelaide, Wine Australia, Wine Industry Suppliers Association, and Wine Communicators of Australia.

Over 100 candidates applied for the program this year, with the organisers describing the selection of successful mentees as “the most challenging part of the program.”

In a statement about this year’s program, the organising partners said: “One of the drivers of the Australian wine industry’s global success has been the willingness of those in the industry to share knowledge and expertise and there is no better example of that than this program.”

“The program partners are proud to offer the Wine Industry Mentor Program in 2022 to give early career wine sector professionals the opportunity to connect with like-minded ambitious peers, grow their knowledge and inspire them to be the best they can be,” the statement continued.

“Once again, the partners were thrilled with the quality and diversity of applicants, who represented early career professionals across the wine sector.”

The program will begin on June 1, and continue until the end of November.
