The nation’s best wine lists will be honoured on Monday at the annual Australia’s Wine List of the Year Awards, presented by Fine Wine Partners and Gourmet Traveller Wine.

Celebrating 20 years in 2014, Australia’s Wine List of the Year Awards seeks out the best wine lists from around the country, judged by a 30-strong panel of industry stalwarts in search of the best wine lists from Australia’s restaurants, pubs, bars, and clubs across a range of categories and regions.

This year’s awards presentation will take place on Monday July 28 at Sydney’s Ivy ballroom from 3pm, with nominees in attendance including New South Wales’ Aria, Bentley Bar & Dining, Establishment, Felix, Glass, Guillaume, Ivy, Jonahs, Momofuku, Quay, Victoria’s Dandelion, Lakehouse, RACV City Club and Vue de Monde, while from Western Australia and South Australia there will be Print Hall, Rockpool Bar & Grill, Settlers Tavern and Appellation.

This year also marks the first year that Fine Wine Partners will host The Forum, a unique tasting event taking place prior to the awards presentation.

The Forum will host 26 brands within the Fine Wine Partners portfolio, with guests given the opportunity to enjoy tastings, discussion and an exchange of ideas between winemakers and the trade.

Some of the winemakers facilitating tastings at The Forum include Henshcke’s Stephen and Prue Henschke, Oakridge’s David Bicknell, Pikes’ Neil Pike and Toby Barlow from St Hallet.

The winners will be announced at winelistoftheyear.com.au on July 29, with the full results published in August/September Gourmet Traveller Wine magazine.
