Australia’s only dedicated international wine and spirits trade exhibition, Wine & Spirits, will become part of Australia’s largest food and hospitality industry events, Hotel Australia and Fine Food Australia, when it hits Melbourne this September.

While the event has previously run as a separate show, exhibition organiser Diversified Exhibitions found buyer resistance to staging the shows apart.

Exhibition director Timothy Collett said they struggled to get visitors to cross over to Wine & Spirits so they have created a ‘one-stop shop’.

To be known as Wine & Spirits World, this show component will offer Australia’s wine, beer and spirits producers the opportunity to showcase their products to a highly qualified trade audience within the country’s largest food industry trade event, Fine Food.

Some 30,000 retailers, importers, food professionals, restaurateurs, hoteliers and distributors from around the world are expected to attend this year’s event from September 22 to 25.

Wine & Spirits World will house a purpose-built theatre with a program of free seminars conducted by respected authority Rob Hicks, which aims to educate industry members on the finer points of wine.

Wine & Spirits World will join established product ‘feature worlds’ for Bakery, Confectionery, Convenience, Dairy, Drinks, Meat and Seafood, and Natural Foods.

Hotel Australia and Fine Food Australia is on at the Melbourne Exhibition and Convention Centre from September 22 to 25, with Wine & Spirits World to run from September 22 to 24.
