XXXX Island supporting flood victims

XXXX Gold is auctioning off 24 tickets to XXXX Island in a bid to raise money for the Queensland Floods Appeal 2013.

The trip for 24 people includes travel from the closest major capital city, accommodation on the island, and all meals and drinks – most notably XXXX GOLD.

Until now, trips to the island have only been possible through promotions, but the winning bidder will enjoy a mates weekend of fishing and touch footy, while helping "Queensland mates who have been so harshly affected by the recent extreme weather" said Jack Mesley, XXXX GOLD marketing manager.

In the ebay auction running until February 25, bidding starts at $24,000. The trip must be taken between Thursday, 22 August 2013 through to Sunday, 25 August 2013.

"For those most affected, accessing funds to be able to clean up and rebuild their lives is vital," said Mesley. "We're reaching out to all Aussies. It could be you or your mates who band together to raise funds and bid for the trip, or it could be the perfect corporate team-building experience."

Venues are encouraged to get behind the promotion in support of Queenslanders, with social media activity spreading the word amongst consumers.

The Island boasts facilities such as ‘the fishing shack’, ‘the footy shack’, the larger-than-life campground, a man-cave, and ingenious touches including a fishing lure vending machine and a pulley system that delivers cans of cold beer direct to the ‘Punter’s Pavilion’.

The eBay auction comes on top of the $50,000 XXXX donated to the Appeal and the initiatives already underway to help out local communities across the rain-soaked State.
