In a bid to shake off the lockdown blues, Young Henrys has announced it is giving Sydneysiders the chance to enjoy one of 100 free Friday afternoon schooners.

Kicking off this week the brewer is asking customers to to submit their suburb on the Young Henrys Instagram Stories for the chance to be the suburb visited by the delivery team.

The first winning suburb will be announced on Thursday, August 19 and those residing in the area will be able to bag themselves free Newtowners by DMing their name, address and number via the Young Henrys Instagram and will be served up on their doorstep on Friday, August 20.

Each week, Young Henrys will visit a Sydney suburb serving contact-free delivery of up to 100 schooners to households.

Young Henrys will be continuing to serve the people of Sydney, making its way across different suburbs for weeks to come.

To vote for your suburb and score your free door-to-door schooners, delivered in nothing less than an incredibly COVID-safe environment head to the Young Henrys Instagram.

UPDATE: Having originally called this plan Deliverschoo, Young Henrys received a cease and desist letter from Deliveroo, which stated that the campaign had “caused some confusion as many of our customers and restaurant partners believe that it is an official partnership between the two brands”.

But Deliveroo actually turned this into ‘cease and assist’ with CEO of Deliveroo Australia, Ed McManus stating in the letter: “We are certainly flattered by your imitation of Deliveroo and we applaud your team’s ambition to ‘Serve The People’ and bring the pub experience home.

“With that in mind, no pub visit is complete without some great food. Deliveroo would like to contribute $100 Deliveroo credit to each of the 20 winning households to support your DeliverSCHOO campaign.”

In response Young Henrys said: “This sure is the nicest of all the cease and desist letters we’ve ever received.”

It’s hard to disagree, kudos to both companies.
