Sydney microbrewery Young Henrys will reveal its first foray into gin distilling at a community street festival at Marrickville in Sydney’s South next month.

Young Henry’s Small World festival is a one day community music and beer street event designed to celebrate the creativity of the buzzing inner west suburb.

Bands playing on the day include Tumbleweed, The Snowdroppers, The Delta Riggs, Little Bastard, True Vibenation, Steve Smyth, Pat Capocci, Richard In Your Mind, Bloods, The Upskirts, Royal Tennyson plus local acts to be announced.

Food providers include Porteño Sydney, Bloodwood Newtown, Mary's and Cornersmith.

Young Henry’s will serve up its local Newtowner and Cloudy Cider, plus the brewery's Noble Cut Hand Crafted Gin.

"Young Henrys Noble Cut Gin is small batch distilled gin made with many varied botanicals including Juniper, Oris Root,Australian native Bush Tomato, Pepperberry and Tasmanian grown Hops,” says Richard Adamson of Young Henrys.

“The gin is both floral and dry, complex and smooth – uniquely Australian yet reminiscent of a classic London Dry.”

Young Henry’s recently collaborated with The Shout to create Mega Mega White Thing, a 5.8 per cent ABV ‘White Stout’ using Motueka and Wai-iti hops for industry trade show Beervana, currently taking place in Wellington, New Zealand.

Mega Mega White Thing will be available at select Sydney venues that pour Young Henrys specialty beers following the conclusion of Beervana.

Young Henry’s Small World festival takes place from 12:30pm to 10:00pm on Saturday September 20 on Jabez Street, Marrickville, and is presented by Time Out and FBI Radio.
