The Hilton Sydney yesterday kicked-off the first of its Sunday summer sessions with an afternoon launch party held on the rooftop terrace of the Zeta Bar

Coded Zeta Summer Sundaze, the weekly event will host local live music, cocktail specials, a Spanish-themed barbecue and complimentary hot and cold tapas from 1:00pm to 9:00pm for a four-week trial period.

“We wanted to do something on a Sunday for a long time but needed to wait for the right concept to come along,” said Zeta bar consultant, Grant Collins. “We wanted something that put the focus on the terrace with its soft furnishings and mobile cocktail to create a relaxed atmosphere — a place where we’d all like to spend our afternoons.”

Collins said the concept marked the commencement of Sunday trading for the venue after two and a half years in the market. “Zeta Bar now has a high profile and we are respected for our drinks,” he said. “I don’t think there is anything going on in the city like this. We will give it a go for a month and see how it goes.”

Following yesterday’s performance by the Martini Club, the line-up for Zeta Summer Sundaze will see live music by Reyes DA LA Onda on February 17, EON Beats on March 24 and Virna Sansone & Band of Reknown on March 2.

“Zeta’s Summer Sundaze brought out the sun and the sexiness of summer in Sydney, with all the beautiful people, many from the hospitality industry,” said bars&clubs editor, Nick Walton. “Zeta is making a name for itself as the place to be for their laidback and funky Sundays, and the addition of the Martini Club made for a fantastic afternoon.”
