Leasingham’s Bin 61 Shiraz 2005 has been named Best Wine at the 2008 Royal Perth Show after winning three coveted trophies.

The Clare Valley wine was awarded the Illa Corti Trophy for the Best Wine of the Show, the Wolf Blass Trophy for the Best Red Table Wine and the Stewart Van Raalte Trophy for the Best Shiraz in classes 15, 21, 35 and 48.

“The style of Leasingham’s Bin 61 is designed to express Clare Valley Shiraz, showing fruit fragrance as well as texture,” said Leasingham winemaker, Simon Osicka. “The 2005 Bin 61 Shiraz is a true reflection of the region, with expressive fruit, richness, texture and finesse.”

Leasingham also took home ten individual medals for its other wines, including a gold for its 2007 Bin 7 Riesling.
