The winner of the Square One organic vodka competition has been announced with once lucky Australian bartender now heading off to New Orleans for this year’s Tales Of The Cocktail.
The competition was run locally by Vanguard Luxury Brands from May to June and asked bartenders to create a drink with Square One flavoured vodka and submit a video of themselves making and promoting it in their venue.
The competition received a great response and the entries from Australia were some of the best, with just one point separating the winner and the runner-up. Melbourne bartender Camille Vidal, from Golden Monkey, received the highest score with her cocktail entry, The Melting Pot.
“We have been extremely impressed with the quality of the drinks being produced by bartenders in Australia for this competition. Their choice of ingredients as well as the creativity involved has been first rate,” Square One founder and owner, Allison Evanow, says.
“The Melting Pot really embodies what New Orleans is all about, both in what the drink represents, as well as its ingredients. Camille embraced all the cultural influences that make New Orleans what it is today.”
