NSW hotel group Merivale has denied allegations it has been placed in voluntary administration.

“It is absolutely not true. I deny it 100 per cent,” said a spokesperson for the company. “I have spoken to management and they have advised me it is not true.”

Rumours began surfacing today (December 5) that the holding company behind some of Sydney’s most dynamic accommodation properties, pubs and clubs, including the multi-million dollar ivy complex on George Street, had succumbed to mounting debt and the economic downturn.

The Merivale spokesperson said the company did not know when or where the rumour started.
